This is where alot of the tourist boats to the islands and other ferries go from. It’s a beautiful place at sunset. When we came to Jesselton Point back in 2006, there were quite alot of indigenous people and other local people traveling by all different kinds of boats. From what I saw, they seemed poor and unhappy. There does seem to be a huge divide between the rich and poor on this island. Now five years later, Jesselton Point has gotten a makeover — more fancy restaurants, a really nice indoor soccer court, and most everything seems to be geared to the tourist. I wonder where the local people get on their boats.
